Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Porto 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Blended from wines of a single year, LBV ages from four to six years in cask and is ready to drink when bottled. Its concentrated fruity flavor and firm, full-bodied style make Taylor’s LBV the perfect port to accompany chocolate desserts, and blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort.

Dark, rich, spice and tar but not as long a finish as I was expecting. Nice but lacks power of the best LBVs. My rating 89.

Huge and plentiful legs accompany this beautifully colored, aged LBV. Colors are beginning to show tawny hues, still with a body cranberry, black cherry syrup, and black plum juice....opaque as it should be....starting to show some muddled character. Aromas of huge raisined grape, beginnings of licorice root, rounded and delicate alcohol, black plum, deep dark cherry, blackberry, cocoa rich chocolate notes and woody vanilla. The flavors follow suit, and become even more robust, intense, yet not losing anything with the age. Sweet, natural black cherry syrup, gusto intenso raisin, dark berry, smooth oaked vanilla Earthiness, licorice/spiced notes like a small amount of fresh ground black pepper. Mouthfeel is velvet on the palate, full bodied buttered character, superbly well hidden booze and a dry finish that screams flavor and warrants the next sip....lingers on the palate very well! At this point in time, if you find a bottle of this, grab it and Enjoy! Still feel that this has another 3-4 years of complex peakness! All in on this one.....enjoy with an 85% dark chocolate!

Opaque, purple black colour with a narrow violet rim. Characteristically stylish and racy, with a nose of dense blackcurrant and woodland fruit overlaid with discreet herbal nuances and scents of violet and rose petals.
