- Michel Tardieu is the Rhône's most passionate and purist négociant-éleveur, producing tiny quantities of handmade wines. This 100% Grenache from 70-100-year-old vines shows polish and elelgance to rival Rayas. Drink 2010-20.

- "This is still shrouded by its bacony toast and has a lot to resolve, but the massive core of blackberry, black currant, fig, loam, dark tobacco and dark molten chocolate is very, very impressive. The finish shows the grip and balance of the vintage, boding well for serious cellaring. 90 percent Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2009 through 2032...96." WS 12/07

- Well made with nice ripe fruit and good Rhone herb undercore but not terribly complex and way overpriced compared to other '05 CdP of similar quality. Not in the Pegau, Beaucastel, Clos des Papes circle although the price is.
