Tardieu-Laurent Côtes du Luberon Bastides de Rhodares 2001
"...it reveals tremendous concentration along with a formidable assortment of flavors including ripe figs, creme de cassis, chocolate, melted licorice, espresso, and earth. Full-bodied, magnificently concentrated, and pure, with reserves of power, it has the potential to be magical...95." WA 2/04.
Decanted 2 hours, Ruby color, hot perfume of blackberries with notes of cherries, violets and chocolate. light body, still concentrated, bright palate of leather, blueberries and cranberries with notes of clove, luscious finish of stonefruit, orange rind and licorice.
A beautiful fruity red wine with lots of power. Wery nice to provencial cooking
Perfectly balanced wine with great structure, and a cool blend of anise, cocoa and fruit. The tannins are supple. Great for sipping, but obviously ideal for food. We had it with a rich boeuf a la bourgignon (I know, odd). Would work beautifully with lamb, and sauces or other dishes with herbal flavors.
