Tamber Bey Rabicano 2008
In the glass, the nose is an explosion of dark and red fruits that are surrounded with exotic elements of fresh cut tobacco, artisan chocolate and fresh Burgundian summer currants. The palate is a peacock’s tail of flavor and subtle structure combined with complexities that can only be achieved through the careful blending of multiple Bordeaux varietals. The finish has already developed nuances associated with a great Napa Valley red wine. Fresh and perfectly ripened fruit notes are buttressed by a mouthful of elements that showcase the terroir of the Deux Chevaux Vineyard. While approachable in its youth, look for this wine to age gracefully for years to come.
Editorial Reviews for Tamber Bey Rabicano
Fairly oaky on the nose with graffiti and mineral edges to the black currant fruit that is backed up with gentle herb, vanilla, briar and tobacco notes. Lovely entry is very fresh and bright even though there is obvious wood here with it’s lightly sweet edge and toast flavors. The fruit here is very expressive with blackberry and black currant flavors that balance out the wood. This needs some time to integrate and I expect the oak to fade below the fruit allowing the more aromatic herb and spice notes on the finish to emerge with time. 90pts
