Food Pairings for Tamás Estates Prima Classe Riserva Il Viaggio Rouge
Varietal Content: 98% Pinot Grigio, 2% Gewurztraminer Winemaker: Chris Graves Alcohol: 11.6% pH: 3.19 Total Acid: 0.68/100ml Residual Sugar: Dry Vineyard: With the breezes that keep Monterey cool during the day and coastal weather to keep the grapes warm at night, Arroyo Seco is one of the best-known regions for growing the Pinot grape. The climate slowly diffuses the sugars from the skins into the grapes and allows for gradual ripening, thereby creating wonderful Pinot Grigio flavors. Fermentation: This blend was 100% fermented in stainless steel tanks to showcase the crisp Pinot Grigio character. Aging: This Pinot Grigio was aged in stainless steel tanks in order to retain the crisp fruity character inherent in the grape. Description: Pinot Grigio is a classic Italian grape variety that thrives in Monterey County. The 2005 vintage of Tamás Estates Pinot Grigio has an aroma of vibrant grapefruit, green apple and hints of lemon. With crisp, fruity mouthfeel and an undertone of minerals from the soils of the Monterey region, it is a lovely wine for sipping outdoors, at a barbecue, or with spicy, crispy appetizers or light entrees.
