Tamarack Cellars Sangiovese Columbia Valley 2009

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Candy Mountain and Blue Mountain fruit, 10 to 15% new oak, Leafy and smoky on the nose with a light oak imprint that lends a nutty and toasty cast to the earthy, carob framed red berry fruit aromas. Bright, juicy, broad, and focused in the mouth if a bit simple but pure with slightly roasted red berry fruit, plenty of bright acids, a little lingonberry and mineral on the backend along with some late arriving wood tannins. All in all a nice, clean and fresh example of Sangiovese. 88pts

Lots of ripe strawberry jam and bright red cherry acidity with hints of rose petals, juicy raspberry coulis and velvety tannins for an intense initiation with a lengthy finish.
