Tamarack Cellars Firehouse Red 2012
Deceptively sweet aromas of strawberries, raspberries and rose petals. The flavors are dark, rich, lusciously mouthwatering, with cherries, boysenberries, tart plum skins, hints of leather, sweet pipe tobacco, and coffee beans. The tannins are firm, but not a bit edgy and the finish lingers with just a touch of anise. A truly lovely vintage.

29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Syrah, 22% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, 3% Sangiovese, 2% Grenache, 2% Cinsault, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Counoise, 1% Mourvèdre, 1% Carmenere Quite interesting aromatically with nuanced chocolate, game meat, and tobacco notes adding detail to the core of blueberry and black berry fruit. Bright and fresh on entry, this is a plump little wine with gentle ivy and oak shadings adding a dash of complexity over the core of juicy fruit rather fruit driven, and nicely so, there are nice fine tannins here adding a little depth on the palate and fine acidity keeping the long red fruited finish zesty and bright. A lovely BBQ or burger wine. 88pts

This one was such a thrill from the moment I opened the bottle till I finished the last drop. This has to be the finest wine I've tasted this year. Mellow entry, aroma is a burst of grape. Vanilla, raspberry, strawberry and a finish that seems to last forever. WOW

Hot days, cool nights and plentiful sun stuck around all summer and throughout harvest.
