Tamarack Cellars Firehouse Red 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Deceptively sweet aromas of strawberries, raspberries and rose petals. The flavors are dark, rich, lusciously mouthwatering, with cherries, boysenberries, tart plum skins, hints of leather, sweet pipe tobacco, and coffee beans. The tannins are firm, but not a bit edgy and the finish lingers with just a touch of anise. A truly lovely vintage.

22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Syrah, 26% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, 6% Sangiovese, 3% Zinfandel, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Carmenere, 1 % Grenache, 1%Counoise Earthy, floral and perfumed on the nose with little minty accents to the core of blackberry and blueberry fruit Plump and juicy in the mouth, the tannins here are a bit on the rough side lending this a bit of a rustic feel. The palate shows tart red fruit that’s a bit strawberry toned in a generally earthy style. 86pts

Good blend of blackberry and black cherry, complimented by vibrant acidity with subtle earthy spice notes; fine tannins, moderate finish.
