Food Pairings for Tamarack Cellars Firehouse Red
Editorial Reviews for Tamarack Cellars Firehouse Red
Warm, spicy and a bit hot on the nose with chocolate shavings and cigar box notes accenting red raspberry and strawberry fruit. Soft on entry and nicely filled out with boisterous fruit and oak flavors in the big yet still transparent frame. This offers up nice, slightly jammy, slightly chewy fruit in a fun to drink style that finishes a touch coarsely but delivers a lot of flavor. 89pts

earthy smoky nose with peppery notes on the palate, dark earthy bold fruit flavors. great for under $20!
this is one of my favorite blends for the price. it never lets me down, for a strong grouping of eight different grapes.. how fun is that!
As the title says, their is fire in here in the form of nice spiciness. Terrific pairing for pasta with meat sauce. Fruit forward with some well-integrated oak. Great everyday wine.
This has a velvety mouth feel and notes of chocholate covered cherry. Impressive.
love this chocolate cherry. luscious red fruits and slightly toasty.

Deceptively sweet aromas of strawberries, raspberries and rose petals. The flavors are dark, rich, lusciously mouthwatering, with cherries, boysenberries, tart plum skins, hints of leather, sweet pipe tobacco, and coffee beans. The tannins are firm, but not a bit edgy and the finish lingers with just a touch of anise. A truly lovely vintage. - WineryBlend:• 22% Cabernet Sauvignon• 24% Syrah• 26% Merlot• 10% Cabernet Franc• 5% Malbec• 6% Sangiovese• 3% Zinfandel• 1% Petit Verdot• 1% Carmenere• 1 % Grenache and 1%CounoiseCooperage: The wine is on 40% new oak barrels, mostly French and American oak with a compliment of Eastern European oak for 16 months.pH: 3.72TA: 0.57Alcohol: 13.8%

Tamarack is located in a former fire station in Walla Walla, hence the Firehouse name. This blend reflects the aromatic sophistication and dignified weight of Cabernet Sauvignon, the plumy mouthfeel of Merlot and spicy brightness of Syrah. Founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, Tamarack Cellars is dedicated to the production of small lot, hand-crafted wines from select vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley, Rattle Snake Hills, Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope, Yakima Valley, Red Mountain and Columbia Valley appellations. The winery is located in a restored WW II fire station and barracks at the Walla Walla Airport Complex. Production began in 1998 and is currently up to 11,000 cases for the 2006 vintage. Ron Coleman serves as winemaker and general manager. He comes to the job after a long career in the wine industry with experience in wholesale and retail sales, as a sommelier, and through cellar work for Waterbrook and Canoe Ridge wineries.
