What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

Tastes like really, really good red wine. hard to separate all the flavors. Which varietal is lending which notes? Who knows? Who cares? rounded, lush, layered and lovely, the ultimate food wine, pairing well with everything from pasta and pizza to grilled meat and roasted chicken. fruity and loaded with berries, cherries, cassis, coffee, chocolate, vanilla bean and cinnamon.

The Firehouse Red has a pleasant spicy aroma, like cinnamon, with some bright red fruits to back it up. Well rounded on the palate, without being really big and overpowering. A great wine to go with food. Shared it at dinner with meatloaf covered in Pomodoro and a spicy penne pasta and it was fantastic.

Wine & Spirits - *Highly Recommended" Sophisticated in its use of wood, in parallel to the Tamarack red blend from 2005, this smells like an expensive Bordeaux. In the front of the mouth, the curranty fruit rides high on a raft of oak, then it disappears into the oak in a candied plum and prune fruit finish. A stylized red."

Tamarack is located in a former fire station in Walla Walla, hence the Firehouse name. This blend reflects the aromatic sophistication and dignified weight of Cabernet Sauvignon, the plumy mouthfeel of Merlot and spicy brightness of Syrah. Founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, Tamarack Cellars is dedicated to the production of small lot, hand-crafted wines from select vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley, Rattle Snake Hills, Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope, Yakima Valley, Red Mountain and Columbia Valley appellations. The winery is located in a restored WW II fire station and barracks read more...
