Taittinger Champagne Blend Champagne Rosé 2008

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Effortlessly elegant rose petal and strawberry aromas with a light brioche note. Warm and round notes of strawberry, ripe cherry and pink grapefruit blossom on the palate buoyed by small and sensual bubbles and a peak of acidity through the midpalate, sliding down towards the finish with creamy toast and more pleasant fruit notes feathering the palate and ending with mixed berry and light yeast notes. As delicate and elegant as you could imagine, and well worth any special occasion.

Champagne Taittinger is one of the few remaining family owned and operated Champagne houses. The firm is distinguished for its extensive vineyard holdings of 752 acres, including prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims regions. Unlike most large houses, Champagne Taittinger relies primarily on estate grapes for its portfolio of Champagnes. Also unique are the higher proportion of Chardonnay in its wines that gives Taittinger its signature style, and the time devoted to aging the wines before release—most often greatly exceeding the legal requirement, in a practice that also has become a Taittinger hallmark. Distinguished for its extensive vineyard holdings of 752 acres, including prestigious Grand Cru vineyards. Highest-quality production: exceeding minimum aging for all cuvées, high percentage of estate grapes, sustainable practices. Uses a higher proportion of Chardonnay grapes in its blends than other large houses—Taittinger’s unique personality. Critical acclaim: consistently outstanding (90+) scores, worldwide recognition among connoisseurs Read less

Nice, nice French champagne. Bright gold with tiny bubble stream. Aromas of biscuit and lemon meringue, which were echoed on the palate along with a slight note of apples.

My taste for Champagne tends to lean toward the real yeasty ones, almost like eating bread. This Brut is nothing like that but I did really enjoy it. It has got a lovely fruit mix that sets it apart.

Weingut: TaittingerRegion: ChampagneRebsorte: 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot MeunierInhalt: 1,5 lAlkoholgehalt: 12,0 Vol.%Empfohlene Serviertemperatur: 8-12°C Champagner - Sekt - Prickelndes > Frankreich > Champagne

Golden yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine, while the foam is discreet yet lingering. The nose, very open and expressive, delivers aromas of fruit and brioche. Elegant fragrance of peach and white flowers.

An elegantly fresh and delicate Champagne blended from a high proportion of Chardonnay grapes to yield a refined flavor palette of pear and stone fruits offset by warm, yeasty notes and hints of breadcrust.
