Winemaker's Notes:

This is Taittingers grand cru nonvintage release. Medium straw, with bright highlights. Creamy, vanilla-laced apple, pear and buttered toast aromas are lush and clearly etched. One of the most refreshing Champagne's I have ever had. Crisp, clean, sweet, it cleanses the palat very well with its subtle citrus, apricot and biscuit taste. Expensive, but just about worth the price.

90 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright straw with a fine bead. Spicy, intense, deeply pungent aromas of apple, lime and flowers. Brisk, focused and pure, showing racy, deep citrus zest and mineral flavors of wonderful purity. Very clean, penetrating and long on the finish, with a lingering citrus zest quality." (Nov/Dec 06) 89 points - Wine Spectator"Smoky, graphite character lends depth to the lemon and floral notes in this elegant bubbly. Well-delineated by the vibrant acidity. Moderate finish. Drink now." (11/04) A blend from all Grand Cru villages.

A distinctly yeasty and quite fruity nose features notes of apple pear and citrus hints. There is a generous mousse on the delicious and easy-to-like flavors that possess just enough depth to avoid being banal plus there is good length on the moderately dry finish. Burghound.

This is elegant and harmonious, offering vanilla, graphite and toast aromas and flavors. The texture is refined, and this builds to a long, coffee- and pastry-tinged finish. Drink now through 2010. 320 cases imported. Wine Spectator. A Champagne Blend wine from Champagne in France. N.V. Taittinger Prelude 750ml
