What to Expect

Champagne is specifically a sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France; every other sparkling is simply that, sparkling wine. Made to be aged for a few to many years, in many languages "Champagne" is synonymous with "party". When young, Champagne exhibits the fresh fruit tones of its "cepage", or blend. Usually based on a blend the features either Chardonnay or Pinot Noir as its main ingredient, Champagne's fruit can range from citrusy to orchard fruits and even red berries. The wine gains distinct yeasty notes from its secondary fermentation, the one that adds the fizz, which is typically described as recalling brioche or bread. As it ages Champagne tends to lose its obvious fruit, which is replaced by subtle nutty tones and subdued elements of dried fruits.

Yeasty, crisp and citrusy with a subtle hint of toast.

This Champagne is a blend of some 30 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, respectively 40% and 60% of the total, from several harvests of perfectly ripened grapes. Crisp aromas of green apple, wheat and minerals. Fresh, creamy flavors of apple and toasted bread with hints of red fruit. Classy finish. -Wine News

From a fine house, this bubbly has classic aromas of yeast and lime, with a hint of vanilla and coconut. In the mouth, it?s rich and full-bodied, with delicate citrus flavors and good acidity, but very dry. It?s mostly notable for balance and harmony. An elegant, smooth wine with a good deal of complexity and finesse.

This respected house produces a style of non-vintage Brut whichappeals to a wide range of palates. Relying on their extensive vineyard ownership, Taittinger utilizes a plurality of Chardonnay for this blend, together with Pinot Noir and a fairly large share of Pinot Meunier. Fruity, soft and engaging- a Champagne for parties and late nights!
