Tagaris Red Rhone Blend Wahluke Slope Red Roan 2006
My wife found this on one of our bike camping trips in Washington. What a delightful surprise we had at camp when we opened it. Very nice fruit forward. A lot of flavors. We really enjoyed it with dinner that night.Add winemaker's notes
Winemaker Michael Taggares founded Tagaris Winery in 1987. The winery honors the proper Greek spelling of the family name whose members descended from the royal family and first began growing wine grapes in the 15th century. Tagaris winery is the modern day result of three generations of grape growers in Washington’s Columbia Valley, where the climate and soil reminded Michael’s grandfather of his Greek homeland.

First of all, Tagaris is in Richland, Washington (not Oregon). Second of all, this is a great wine. A little pricey for a regular bottle (sells for $26 directly from the winery), but great for a special occasion.
