Taft Street Russian River Valley Chardonnay Blanc 2007

Member Review by WineborkDotCom:

Like the 2006, this is a really nice Russian River Chardonnay that's also really well-priced. Flavorful but soft and elegant, with excellent purity and a clean, crisp texture. The fruit leans towards ripe peach and apricot, with a subtle spiciness in the background. No hard edges or overdone components. A great sipping wine as well as being good with food.

Since 1979, we have carried on the garagistes tradition of innovation and excellance in a chateau alternative locale. Taft Street Winery continues in the garagistes traditions to this day, producing limited production, handcrafted wines from select Sonoma County vineyards. Our goals have not changed. We make great wine; make it available at a fair price; and, most of all, have fun in the process. Read less

Soft and buttery, with vanilla notes and ripe, creamy pear flavors in a medium-bodied format, turning smoky. Drink now through 2002.

Taft Street raised the price on their '07 Chard significantly, and it is a better wine than the '06. It's textbook cool-climate, with crisp acidity girding oak-inspired flavors of pineapples, green apples and pears.
