Add your reviewDefinitely a standard bearer for New World Rhone-style whites. This wine shows tropical fruits, pickled ginger, green tea and five spice plus a great undertone of minerality I often miss in California whites.
Fantastic Paso white Rhone blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul Blanc. Extremely well balanced with dried apricot, almond and ginger. Somewhat dry with nice acidity, subtle oak and a long silky finish.
Very attractive golden yellow color. Spring blossome floral aromas. Quite dry and refrehng in the mouth. Some kind of fruit flavor--kiwi or pineapple. Nice acid tartness gives me the refreshing thing. Bit of bitterness in the back. Good, lingering finish. US$32.99 at Wine Club in Santa Ana.
Fantastic Paso white Rhone blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul Blanc. Extremely well balanced with dried apricot, almond and ginger. Somewhat dry with nice acidity, subtle oak and a long silky finish. Very similar to the 2010 with the difference being that the '09 has a bit more citrus and lemon chiffon most likely due to have a bit more Picpoul Blanc (12% vs 5%).
Flinty nose with hints of petrol and crab apple. Oily texture and mouth coating. Golden apple flavors along with pear and floral notes. Nice. Tad of funk on the finish. Lingers nicely. 90 pts. 9/1/12 at winery
Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul. Rose petal aromas and flavors with golden delicious apple at the core.Great concentration. Still very young and a tad acidic, this will flesh out beautifully.

The 2010 Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc shows a powerful high-toned nose with aromas of passion fruit, mango, ginger, asian pear and herbs. The mouth shows classic Roussanne flavors of honey and white tea, a touch of tropicality coming out with air. The long, clean finish shows an appealing saline minerality and the structure to age. The wine will benefit from short-term cellaring, and drink well starting in 2012 for a decade or more.
