Tabalí Carménère 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

At Tabali winery, there is total commitment to crafting unique wines with distinct regional character and full of Limari expression. They are passionate about producing the highest quality wines by carefully balancing all elements, growing healthy vines, a careful selection of grapes and ultimately the best winemaking techniques. The young and enthusiastic team is dedicated to producing wines that wine lovers around the world can taste and enjoy. The vineyards from where these Merlot grapes are harvested are planted 29 kms from the Pacific Ocean, which has a great influence on the temperatures of the area due to the strong breezes that every day get into the continent, cooling the area and making it very suitable for grape growing, plus a spectacular phitosanitary conditions of the grape because of the absence of rain during the harvest season makes this place a paradise for vines and good quality grape. The Tabalí Reserva Merlot is a full and flavoursome red wine with a great concentration in the nose. It is ripe, and fresh, full of red fruit such as raspberries, strawberries with a hint of vanilla. In the palate is full-bodied with nice tannins and a great structure. This is a well balanced merlot with a nice acidity and lots of fruit, for a long and satisfying finish.

Currently, vina TABALI belongs to Guillermo Luksic C. and San Pedro Tarapaca Wine Group. At the beginning of 2007 Luksic acquired the property of \/ina Leyda and founded "Vina Valles de Chile S.A.", the holding company which controls both, Tabali and Leyda wineries. Despite of this, both wineries are managed completely independent, maintaining its identity and winemaking philosophy. Read less
