There is no one hotter in Burgundy these days than Sylvain Cathiard and his performance in 2004 will only add to the luster of his reputation. With respect to 2004, Cathiard said that the vintage was extremely challenging but with hard work, you could make good wine. I wasn't overly optimistic at first given the weather we had but sugars were actually very good even if the phenolic ripeness wasn't all that high. We had very long malos and most of the wines didn't finish until July. After that, I was surprised because they seemed a bit flat and lacking in energy but as they fed on their read more...
