($45; no new oak used!) Full medium ruby. Black fruits, licorice and menthol on the nose. Big, sweet, round and rich, with compellingly thick, primary flavors of black fruits and fruit cake. Finishes with big, broad, chewy tannins but no rough edges. Very impressive petite sirah, with little overt oakiness to stand in the way of its expressive fruit. These wines are made by Bob Foley.
