We glorify day-to-day living by introducing luxury products that were once considered stuffy and intimidating in a delightful and accessible manner. We encourage you to plop ice cubes in your glass of Rosato during the summertime; savor the naughty combination of chocolate bonbons with estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon; or serve American caviar and potato chips with Pinot Grigio -- just because you want to. Good Merlot. Not exactly the Cabernet drinkers merlot....but a nice wine with good structure. it's a well made wine and will go well with most foods. nice nose...slightly tannic on the finish. But a good solid wine! Cheers!

Harsh, high alcohol taste. Cherry and cocoa on the nose.

We have only found this by the half-bottle locally but we love it. Doesn't have an overly-strong alcohol taste and has a nice smooth oak/berry flavor. Highly recommend this wine!

Spicy, complex nose with plum, cherry, blueberry, prune, melon, vanilla, purple sage, tumbleweed, leather, tobacco, coffee grounds, pepper, dish soap, and wafts of floral and earth. Some heat and bitterness in the taste at launch, with lacings of licorice, cigar box, tobacco, and earth. Red fruits, including raspberry and cherry, follow, adding to the evolving medley of spice, herbs and fruit that give the wine complexity over time. Good fruit, with hints of blueberry and mocha emerge during the velvety finish. Acidity not balanced, but spice is nice.

Vineyard Notes: Sitting in the heart of Napa’s Oakville district is the Swanson Estate merlot vineyard. Farmed impeccably, we are able to adjust our yield each year to achieve the ripeness levels we desire. Favoring quality over quantity, we deliberately keep our crop low, allowing for a long hang time on the vine, building intense flavors and retaining natural acidity. Winemaker Notes: Immediately inviting, the nose opens like a summer’s day, ripe fruit, red currant, strawberries and rose petals. On the palate the wine delivers crisp raspberry acidity alongside a succulent and dense mouth feel. Precise tannins give a refreshing lift to this well-structured Merlot. Built to be immediately assessable as well as rewarding medium cellaring (5-7years) this good-natured wine will pair well with a wide variety of foods. - Robin Akhurst, Winemaker Vintage Notes: 2012 was a near perfect growing season. A mild spring delivered good fruit set followed by a warm summer and fall, allowing perfect ripeness. With no pressure to pick, we were able to let the grapes hang on the vine, to deliver the very best flavors. Thick skins and very little disease pressure gave us clean grapes that required little sorting in the winery. Alcohol: 14.6%

This isnt a wine to age. Its soft and appealing in its charms, offering drink-me-now cherries, red currants, herbs and sandalwood. The winemaker blended it with a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot, which gives it structural and flavor complexities. - S.H. - Wine Enthusiast Magazine 88 PointsSwansons 2010 Merlot reveals a hint of tomato skins intertwined with red and black fruits, soft tannins, an attractive underbelly and texture, good length and a spicy, plump, round, generous mouthfeel. It is an attractive, seductive Merlot to drink over the next 5-6 years. - Robert Parker 87 Points

The 2009 Swanson Oakville Merlot is the perfect reminder of why so many serious red wine drinkers like Merlot. Visually, aromatically and on the palate, the wine is plush and generous. The color is dark garnet with a purple edge. The nose is captivating, with aromas of fresh, ripe black cherry, plum, raspberry, and well-integrated toasted oak. In the mouth, very ripe black and red fruits surround a core of velvety tannin. The finish is enticing, sily-smooth, long and harmonious. This Merlot will continue to improve in the bottle, with optimum drinkability from 2013-2017. - Chris Phelps, Winemaker ** SOLD OUT **

The 2008 Swanson Oakville Merlot is a charming wine, reminiscent of the Right Bank of Bordeaux than Napa Valley. The nose offers black cherry, plum, and dried red cherry with notes of well-integrated sweet oak and mocha. Firm, ripe tannins characteristic of our Oakville Estate vineyard fill out the palate nicely. In the mouth, look for raspberry, black cherry, and red licorice. A graceful top note of verve and spice is contributed by the Petit Verdot. Velvet-smooth and long on the finish. Should continue to improve in the bottle with optimum drinkability continuing through 2017. - WineryCOMPOSITION:Merlot 90%Cabernet Sauvignon 8%Petit Verdot 2%BARREL REGIME:20 months in barrels: 50% American, 50% French oak barrels (30% new)VINIFICATION:Cold Soak, extended maceration ** SOLD OUT **
