Sutter Home Winery Gewürztraminer Napa Valley Family Vineyards 2009
Our winemakers chose to ferment this wine in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures. The stainless steel tanks do not impart additional flavors on the wine and allow the natural characteristics of the Gewurztraminer to be preserved. The Gewurztraminer was also cap and drained to increase the rich varietal intensity.
One of the better Gewurz wines out there. If you find Moscato too sweet, try this Gewurtz. Not dry & sour like most Chards, yet not honey sweet like Meade. Light, refreshing, pink grapefruit comes to mind. Pair it up with green apple & white cheddar snaks - our guests loved it.

Sweet and simple, a nice mouthful of orange and pear flavors.
This well-made wine shows a special Alsatian touch in its projection of rose-petal flavors. Itrsquo;s barely off-dry, and all the more appealing for being a bargain as well. Black Forest ham, as part of an informal meal, would work ideally.
Food Pairings for Sutter Home Winery Gewürztraminer Napa Valley Family Vineyards
The lush, rich flavors of this off-dry wine echo the aromas. With the sweetness of fruit cocktail and well-balanced acidity, it ends in a spicy, dry finish. This wine will pair well with many foods, especially those prepared with sweet or hot flavors: Southwestern and Caribbean cuisines, turkey, chicken, pork roast or ham. Next time you pick up Chinese take-out, grab a bottle of Sutter Home Gewurztraminer and enjoy a glass with your sweet and sour pork.
