User Reviews for Susanna Balbo Crios Torrontes-Susanna Balbo Mendoza Argentina
Add your reviewSignature super fragrant bouquet of a meadow of fresh flowers, honey and tropical fruits. Pretty dry on the palate. Ample fruit on a vibrant acidity and a long finish. Delightful and a great wine given the warm weather is here! - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 5/1/10
This is a perfect wine in the summer. We first tried it in 2008 and supplied our wedding with this one as our white and it was long gone before the reception was over. All I heard all night was "I tried the red, but oh, you have to try the white."

90 Points - The Wine Advocate "The 2009 Torrontes remains one of Argentinas benchmarks for this variety. Sourced from 31-year-old vines in Cafayate (where the finest Torrontes grows), it displays a fragrant bouquet of spring flowers, honey, and tropical aromas. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate, it has ample fruit backed by vibrant acidity leading to a lengthy finish. Drink it over the next 2 years. "Winemaker's notes: Enticing aromas that are strikingly similar to Viognier, with hints of peach pit, white pear, flowers, and orange citrus fruit. On the palate, it has beautiful structure and acidity similar to Sauvignon Blanc along with enticing fruit flavors that keep you coming back for another sip and plenty of body for a wine that shows such delicate aromas and flavors. Fruity, floral and yet still quite dry, this wine has to be tasted to be believed.Best enjoyed in its youth either by itself, or as a wonderful partner with smoked meats, mild to medium-strong cheeses, and seafood (especially crab!).

Crisp and refreshing, with notes of citrus, spice, and bright fruit. We even noticed a bit of mint creeping in. The body is perfect, not too heavy but not too thin. An exciting wine and an exceptional value.
Some Mendoza Torrontes in the blend; fragrant, dry, mouth-filling, the prototype Torrontes.
Enticing aromas of orange blossom, peach, licorice, mint and white flowers. Juicy, spicy and firm, with lovely inner-mouth floral perfume to the peach and lichee flavors. A slight phenolic quality gives the wine grip without bitterness. Comes across as dry not austere, thanks to a few grams of residual sugar. Should make a lovely aperitif.
This brilliant portfolio begins with the medium straw-colored 2008 Torrontes. It offers up an alluring perfume of spring flowers, peach, apricot, and a hint of citrus. On the palate the wine is dry, smooth textured, layered, and succulent while retaining a sense of elegance. This nicely balanced wine features a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Pale color. Pungent aromas of citrus peel, ginger, mint and floral oils. Juicy, spicy and firm, with a lively lightness and good subtle persistence. Finishes vibrant and firm-edged, almost austere but not at all bitter. An excellent example of this variety, and a perfect aperitif. This tastes even drier than its five grams of r.s. would suggest.
