Sunstone Vineyard Syrah Santa Ynez Valley Reserve 2003
Sunterra 2003 Syrah is produced from 100% Syrah grapes grown in Santa Barbara County, which is well known for producing quality Rhone and Bordeaux-style varietals. Ripe with flavors of black stone fruits, plum and subtle spice, this Syrah will tantalize your pallet with rich flavors and finish smooth and enjoyable. Recommended Pairings: - Grilled Trip-Tip - Italian sausage pizza - Carne asada fajitas
Big, bold and rich, the 2003 Sunstone Syrah Reserve was produced with 100% certified-organic estate grown grapes. Deep in color and nearly opaque, the wine's body is somewhat chewy owing to fairly high alcohol and glycerin levels. Flavor profile - dark stone fruits of black cherry and black plums followed by classic Syrah flavors of black pepper and cloves with traces of eucalyptus as well. Almost a meal in a bottle.
Went on tasting through Santa Ynez area with best man. Sunstone's 2003 Estate Syrah was easily our favorite of the tour.
