Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Suncé is a family winery and vineyard located in the Russian River Valley, specialize in small artisan lots of first class wine. Suncé Winery has garnered a reputation for award-winning wines across the varietal spectrum, not the least of which, their Russian River Pinot noirs. This Pinot Noir is just the third release from their estate vineyard, named after owner Frane Franicevic’s daughter Zora. It’s rich, vibrant Pinot with strawberry, black cherry and spice flavors. This wine has received gold medals from the Taster’s Guild International and the Sonoma County harvest Fair and it’s a typical small lot wine, only 650 cases were produced. Very limited.

Sonoma Harvest Fair 2008 - Gold Medal

Winemaker's Notes:

Awards Accolades: Gold Medal - Taster's Guild International Wine Competition - 2008

Gold Medal - Sonoma County Harvest Fair - 2008

Bronze Medal - Sonoma County Harvest Fair - 2007

About This Wine: This release marks Janae and Frane Franicevic’s third unveiling of their estate planted and grown Pinot Noir – it’s the most developed and the fullest on the palate. There’s more espresso and mixed herbs than the 2005 vintage. The finish is elongated, with toasted silk and subtle earth notes. A great Turkey-wine but this Pinot can also be quaffed on its own. Only 26 barrels made - 638 cases.

About The Winery: Suncé, meaning "sun" in Croatian, is located on Olivet Road west of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. Where olive trees once dominated the landscape, old headpruned vines now quietly assert their beauty. Nestled in this serene environment, Suncé Winery provides a tranquil, romantic, yet down-to-earth atmosphere.

Technical Analysis: Hand Picked and Crushed: Sept 23, 2006

Brix at Harvest: 25

Pressed: Oct 6, 2006

PH: 3.62

TA: .42

RS: 026

Alcohol: 14.5%

Aged: 12 months in 80% new Tonnellerie Loureiro French Oak

Bottled: Sept. 8, 2007
