Stuhlmuller Vineyards Chardonnay Alexander Valley Estate Bottled 2009
To accentuate the signature fruit and natural nuttiness of our estate grapes, we fermented this wine with 100% indigenous yeasts. Aging occurred in both barrels (94%) and larger casks (6%), all of which were French oak (8% new). The wine was fermented sure lie for 8 months and underwent 85% indigenous malolactic fermentation.
Rosemary and bright minerality on the nose, the mouth has nice soft acidity that is front-loaded, with a moderate metallic and buttery finish.
One hell of a good Chardonnay; it's definitely oaked but done so well: lots of charred and roasted nuts, a little vanilla, and concentrated peach and apple underneath that keeps one coming back from more...

Starting in 1998, Fritz Stuhlmuller gives us his Estate bottled, classic California-style Chardonnay. Baked apples and stone fruits partner with touches of oak and vanilla. Pair with chicken in a butter cream sauce.
Beautiful citrus and lemon custard aromas as well as lovely orchard fruit notes. Flavors of green pineapple, pear, orange blossom and apple are revealed on the palate, supported by bright, food-friendly acid and subtle textural notes imparted from the French oak and sur lie aging.
