This shows tight, focused fruit on the nose with hints of freshly shelled nuts, a wash of vanilla, and soft, earthy citrus tones and floral accents. On the palate this is rather light and elegant with a round yet ethereal feel. It’s got lively acids that highlight the nutmeat and ripe citrus and pear fruit of the palate, which flows over to a steely stone fruit backend. The finish is really strict and focused, with excellent length and just a suggestion of wood spice. This is a sneaky little bugger. It’s a bit subtle but doesn’t lack for detail and surprises with each taste. It’s also wonderfully balanced and proportioned making this a dream to pair with food. 92pts

A lovely nose with nuanced honey, toasted wood, nutmeat, yellow flowers and dusty earth tone. In the mouth the texture is just fantastic, bright and balanced with intense yet tense and focused mandarin orange, apricot and fig notes that are framed with just a hint of almond and measured oak notes. The finish is fruity, clean and crisp with refreshing acids and a delicacy to the flavors that makes this a winner for geek and novice alike. 93pts

One hell of a good Chardonnay; it's definitely oaked but done so well: lots of charred and roasted nuts, a little vanilla, and concentrated peach and apple underneath that keeps one coming back from more...

Slightly creamy aromas of apples and pears. Good acidity, baking spices and vanilla, a little bit of orange peel, and a zesty and spicy finish.

Very open vanilla/bubblegum nose, with banana and roasted nuts. The flavors transition into the mouth really well, and it ends in a buttery finish and a note of grapefruit.

Soft lime notes and spicy oak upfront. Fairly oily and medium bodied. Very spicy warming finish.

Pretty lime meringue & soft peach aromas that give way to something slightly more tropical in the mouth. There's a warm, toasty quality that clings on for dear life at the end.

a medium straw in color, balanced California-style rich Chard with bright acidity. all the classic aromas show up - butter, toast, cotton candy, with green banana and discernible oak tannins (though not overwhelming)

With vibrant cool citrus aromas as well as notes of pear and green pineapple, this is fresh and inviting expression of Chardonnay. On the palate, pear, citrus oil and lemon custard flavors are supported by sophisticated hints of white almond, clove, jasmi

Fermented without added yeast in older French oak barrels and casks (only seven percent is new wood), this wine has a mild toastiness from lees aging and a clean exposition from beginning to end. The mellow citrus flavors and tight acidity keep it lifted, while the unctuous texture would match rich fish, like grilled Spanish mackerel. This is our lowest alcohol Chardonnay to date. As a result it offers beautiful citrus and lemon custard aromas as well as lovely orchard fruit notes. Flavors of green pineapple, pear, orange blossom and apple are revealed on the palate, supported by bright, food-friendly acid and subtle textural notes imparted from the French oak and sur lie aging. - Winery Technical Notes: Alcohol: 13.7% pH: 3.45 ...

Starting in 1998, Fritz Stuhlmuller gives us his Estate bottled, classic California-style Chardonnay. Baked apples and stone fruits partner with touches of oak and vanilla. Pair with chicken in a butter cream sauce.

Made in the drier, leaner, earthier and more Chablisian style that's increasingly popular, this Chardonnay is a natural for food pairings, such as shellfish. It's a minerally wine, with elegant citrus, kiwi and pear flavors and a streamlined complexity. - S.H. The 2009 Chardonnay Alexander Valley is a big-production item of 8,400 cases. A classic California Chardonnay showing notes of white peach, a bit of honey, and background oak, it is medium to full-bodied and possesses some interesting minerality. Pure and impeccably well-made, it is a delicious, full-throttle Maconnais style of Chardonnay to drink over the next several years. An elegant show of ripe pear and honeydew melon thats medium-bodied, clean and pure. Smooth-textured and ready to drink. Drink now through 2014. 8,400 cases made. -JL
