There were only about 280 cases made of this excellent Zinfandel, which is exceptionally soft and elegant despite its alcohol level. Very ripe and full in its aromas and flavors without being raisiny or hot. Strong plum compote and cocoa flavors dominate, with subtle spiciness and floral notes. Its softness detracts slightly from its grip, but this Zin has plenty of flavor and length.

Winemaker's Notes:

Behind the intoxicating aromas of dark chocolate and mocha lies a hint of violets and a touch of plum. This is a full bodied Zin with ripe flavors upfront and a dark cherry mid-palate. Best paired with a grilled steak or gorgonzola cheese...why not both? Please enjoy by 2012. Gold Medal, 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
