Streeton Reserve Shiraz 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"Bright purple-crimson; an intensely flavoured and very long palate, with berry fruits, mainly black, spice and pepper has been achieved with effortless ease; 18 months maturation in French and American oak has simply provided the means to achieve this. Will be very long lived. Alc 13.8 Rating 96 points. Drink to 2032." James Halliday - Published on 19 Sep 2012

These wines rank among the best of the featured styles made within the famous Grampians Wine Region by Mt Langi Ghiran, Bests, Seppelts and other leading wineries. The small 8 acre vineyard, first planted in 1989, is located south of the Great Dividing Range alongside the Grampians National Park. Grampians Estate has fast become one of the region’s leading boutique wineries with an impressive list of awards. These include a five star rating from James Halliday and 14 awards since 2002. Notable awards include Best Shiraz at the 2005 National Wine Show and Best Shiraz at the 2002 Victorian Wine Show. Tom and Sarah Guthrie, with children Pollyanna and Ford, have nurtured their Shiraz and Chardonnay vines with the goal to produce the best premium wines from their onsite winery. The classic Australian painting Land of the Golden Fleece by Sir Arthur Streeton features on many of the labels. The scene incorporates the idyllic location of the current day vineyard and the home of Grampians Estate. Read less
