A viscous wonder! A golden hue leads into a potpourri of baked pear and apple tartlet aromas. The palate suggests a completely different spectrum suggesting tropical notes of fresh sliced pineapple and guava. The creamy mid-palate is tempered by a streak of stony minerality and a kiss of oak to keep it angular on the finish. This effort is what many of the California chard faithful seek when looking for a house or party white. Here s a full bodied effort that is tempting and delicious now and will age for another 3-4 years. It s hard to believe the price on this release - all sourced from a single mountain estate site. Neil Mechanic.

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2011 Aurora Point is all personality: passion fruit, lemon verbena, basil and elderflower flood the nose with a hint of gunsmoke in the background. The palate opens with a lush entry and cascades through a series of flavors — lemon, guava and quince — all held in check by quinine and a strong gravelly grip. Only our fourth bottling from this 900-foot site, it’s become abundantly clear that the mountain does indeed produce spectacular Sauvignon Blanc.
