Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

This excellent Chardonnay comes from an 1800 foot vineyard in the mountains overlooking Alexander Valley. Satisfying, tangy, crisp, and balanced wine displaying lots of sweet citrus and subtle tropical fruits enhanced by cinnamon-like spiciness and leesy undertones. Fresh and untiring to the palate, lovely balance of fruit, acid, and oak. Unfortunately the price for this wine has been jacked up to beyond affordability in the past few years - the 2007 ($55) costs 30%+ more than I paid for this 2006 ($40). Isn't there a recession going on?

exhibits medium to full body and terrific honey and citrus-like fruit as well as orange blossoms. The wine is ripe, pure, and well-delineated.

Wine Tasting NotesHand-picked fruit from select Alexander Mountain vineyard blocks are blended to produce a classic 100% estate Chardonnay. This three ridge cuvee rings true with aromatic tropical accents, layered with peach and pineapple ending with a slight lemon-lime mineral component. The body is medium in weight yet elegant and offers an exceptionally long finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review Rated 92 Muscular yet expressive, this red offers roasted plum, bitter chocolate, tobacco and hot stone notes. Thick, with rich, ripe tannins and just enough acidity to keep it lively. Best from 2010 through 2020.
