In Rapaura, Marlborough there lies a vineyard studded with precious stones. Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the bed of our vineyard. We call them sunstones.  During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. Bathed with heat from above and below, the grapes gradually ripen and their beautifully rich flavour intensifies.  Starved of moisture and struggling to grow in the stony soil, the vines concentrate their efforts into producing a few precious grapes, with the cool Marlborough nights locking the crisp, concentrated flavour inside. What the vines lack in quantity of fruit, they more than make up for in quality.  The result is a rare wine; elegant and crisp, yet intense - the magical taste of Stoneleigh. Read less

Golden straw colour and a medium intensity. Well integrated tropical fruit and oak on the nose. Well balanced with good mouthfeel. Fruit and oak on the palate with a lingering finish.

Bouquet is confusing and maybe underwhelming? Possible stone fruits and dry grass. On the palate, things improve considerably - subtle acid and oil combine in a delicate creamy texture while allowing a nice light oak to peek through. Petrol and citrus lingers on in the finish (in a good way). $18 Cdn (on sale)

Wine Tasting NotesLight straw in color. This wine has a bouquet of peaches and nectarines, with hints of grapefruit citrus, overlaid by sweet toasty oak notes. The palate is soft and creamy. Flavors of stone fruit and citrus dominate, with a laying complexity of toasty mealy oak. The richness is balance by a backbone of acidity leaving the palate with lifted clean fruit flavors.
