Stoneboat Vineyards White Blend Chorus 2010

Member Review by zufrieden:

This eclectic number is a doppelganger of the California Conundrum (Wagner Family) white and is just as good - if you like adding a good dollop of extra citrus acidity. With 6 grapes in the blend it is surprising how dominant the Pinot Gris and Viognier seem to be. But then I don't actually know the percentage break-out which I suspect is actually less than 10%. The nose is soft fruit such as apricot and even a little pear. On the palate, there is an overwhelming, bracing citric acidity with more apricot and a cleansing effect on the tongue. This is an excellent aperitif and a wonderful wine for seafood and traditional Chinese fare. 88 points.

2010 Stoneboat Chorus: An intriguing concoction of six grapes (Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Muller Thurgau, Kerner, Schoenburger), the perfumed nose is promising of delicious, juicy tropical fruits. On the palate, it then surprises nicely with bursts with crisp green apple, trailed by subtle hints of peach. The refreshing acidity nicely dominates the alcohol (12.3%). A perfect wine for the summer BBQ and patio under the sun.
