Stolpman Vineyards la Coppa Blanc Santa Ynez Valley 2009

Member Review by EMark:

Pretty, almost golden color in the glass. Very big nose--the Viognier (30%) really pounds through--flowery, tropical fruity. On the palate, again the Viognier comes through--some melon hints, some spicy hints, some mineral hints. Very pleasing tartness brings lemony hints. I am looking forward to having this wine with a grilled halibut fillet, tonight. US$19.99 at the Wine Club in Santa Ana. .

Full bodied and quite complex - with tropical fruits, apple, and pear expoding in the palate with some creme brule . Long finish and mineral undertones. Nicely balanced .Great wine with lobster, scallops, sea bass.

A beautiful blend of 60% Roussanne and 40% Viognier. With much more Viognier than LAvion, La Coppa Blanc is deliciously ripe and fruit-forward. Rich and full-bodied; the wine is the ulitmate new-world white Rhone blend. Only 260 cases produced
