Sticks Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"Deep ruby-garnet colored, the 2009 Pinot Noir gives aromas of dark cherries, red plums, spearmint, plus hints of cumin seed and anise. With crisp acidity and a low to medium level of soft tannins, this wine has a decent mid-palate of berry flavors and a medium-long finish. Drink it now to 2014." --The Wine Advocate

From the Sticks website: Tasting Notes Colour - Vibrant red with deep purple hues; Aroma - Raspberry, cherry liqueur, cinnamon, plum; Palate - Cherry, plum, spice, textural. WINEMAKING Fruit was destemmed allowing only whole berries to be pumped directly into the fermenters. Winemaking was carefully managed using a combination of "open pots" with hand plunging and static fermenters. Colour and flavour extraction was meticulously managed through regular sighting and tasting of the wine. The wine was aged on new and seasoned French oak for a period of eight months before parcels were blended to assemble the final wine. VINTAGE COMMENTS A hot and dry vintage meant careful selection of only the finest fruit.

Wine Tasting NotesThis Pinot Noir has a brilliant bright red color with purple tinges. The nose is of berries, with cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, with noticeable spice. The fresh red berries are evident on the palate with cloves and fine tannins.
