Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Winemaker's Notes:

rich, fresh and beautifully balanced, the 2005 Stevenot Merlot is a fruit driven wine of incredible versatility. The nose is redolent of sweet cherries and tart raspberries, layered with notes of ripe plum, brown spices, cocoa and vanilla cream. Careful aging in American oak barrels brings a soft texture along with rich fruit characteristics on the palate. In the mouth, toasty oak tones frame smooth, juicy cassis and candy-like berry flavors, with a delicate mid-palate and supple tannins. A beautiful food pairing wine, serve with stuffed pasta shells, roast garlic chicken, rosemary crusted sirloin steak, or a juicy bacon cheeseburger.
