Sterling Vintner's Collection Meritage 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

The Sterling Vintner's Collection Meritage is a fine blend of some of California's most intriguing red varietals including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine opens with an inviting and vivid nose of freshly picked raspberries, cranberry, cherry and melted milk chocolate. The wine is juicy on the palate where the nose rings true with flavors of mixed berry fruit, mocha and subtle toasted spice. The well-integrated oak influence offers a pleasing warm vanilla note and leads to a long-lasting, seamless finish with balanced acidity.

The 2011 Meritage combines five Bordeaux varietals into a wine that is juicy, rich and satisfying. On the nose fragrant oak frames dark fruit with vanilla, mocha, cherries and black raspberries. Red fruit with nots of cedar and dark plums fill the well-structured palate. The flavors linger on the finish. The blend is 44% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in 80% American and 20% French oak. Super value!
