Sterling Vineyards Svr Reserve United States 2008
Composed of our favorite lots from the vintage, our 2008 SVR Reserve blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petite Verdot into powerful wine that marries concentrated richness with an inviting approachability. Winemaker Alison Crary characterizes the wine’s intense, oak-influenced character as a “black profile” showing graphite, licorice, cedar and mocha over dark cherry and ripe plum. The fruit of this vintage is more subdued than usual, adopting barrel notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate as the dominant flavors. Chewy tannins structure the finish as red fruit, dark chocolate and brown sugar linger on the finish.
Our iconic winery is perched high above the town of Calistoga on a mid-valley hill. Its stark architectural beauty, state-of-the-art winemaking facility, and panoramic views of Napa Valley from the rooftop deck have attracted visitors from all 50 states for over 30 years.
WOW! Fantastic blend from one of the most consistent vineyards in California. A beautiful nose that you could sniff for hours! Beautiful fruit! Soft and supple with gentle tanins and hints of Mocha. Wonderful finish that lasts for a good while. Just another great wine from Sterling. Try this gem with a steak. Fantastic! A top 10 wine for me!
