Zesty grapefruit, citrus, fig, and melon highlight the Sterling Napa County Sauvignon Blanc, sourced primarily from vineyards in the northern regions of Napa Valley. We cool-fermented most of the juice in stainless steel to capture the vibrant personality of these grapes, and used older, neutral oak barrels for the balance to enhance the wine's silky texture.
Wine Advocate #162 (Dec 2005) Performing even better than it did from cask, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (288 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made by up-and-coming winemaker Mark Herold for proprietors Stanley and Helen Cheng) looks to be sensational. Its inky/blue/purple color is followed by an explosive nose of blueberry liqueur intermixed with white chocolate and acacia flowers. Full-bodied, opulent, and dense with high but sweet levels of tannin, marvelous purity, and a layered finish that lasts for 40+ seconds, this superb 2003 can be drunk young or cellared for two decades. with so few cases produced and such high ratings, we suggest you get a hold of this one- it won't be around for long!
