Slight bitterness at 1st, but smooths out with a slight berry blend of sweetness. Slightly overpriced at $30/bottle
Needed decanting, but it was at a part with no decanting options. Stringent nose up front of an old vine zin. Nice cab character on the palate though.

Medium garnet color with no sign of age. The nose has a sweet red candy feel with some cassis and blackberry. The palate has good red fruits and structure. The acid level seems a bit high, and the tannins are somewhat irregular. There is some tar, cocao and leather. This is a nice but boring wine made in the 'Jordan' style: something for everyone. A bit boring and one dimensional. The finish shows some heat.Like my friend Ben says: A Steakhouse wine. I remember when these were much better, but I was much.....younger.
Had bottles in the cellar for about 10 years finally opened on up at my wedding rehearsal dinner. BEAUTIFUL
A bit over the hill, however still had very soft, elegant fruit and tannins.

This robust wine is dark ruby in color, with strong aromas of ripe black cherry, spicy toasty oak, plums, cinnamon and tobacco. The rich, silky palate reveals lush black currant and blackberry flavors, strong, supply tannins and a long, fruity
Elegant and refined, with a smooth texture and supple, well-integrated tannins. An intense core of currant, blackberry and herb-vanilla scented oak adds a nice flavor and textural dimension. Flavors linger and gain complexity on the finish. Drink now through 2010.
Ripe black currant nose, quite delicate too, discreet oak. Smoky. Bug, rich coffee wine. Juicy, upfront, lack of acidity. Good length. 2–8 years.
Think of plums roasted in a turkey stuffing and you might imagine the meatiness of the wine's fruit. the black tannins take that fruit toward a blackberry character, gripping and somewhat cold in their youth. As ashen and stemmy as those tannins may be today, there's enough fruit to live beyond them. Check on this ten years from the vintage.
Medium ruby; attractive, spicy, complex, toasty, cherry fruit aroma with notes of cassis and green olive; medium-full to full body; rich, textured, cedary, ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors with good depth and concentration and a layer of creamy oak; well balanced and firmly structured; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Shows some elegance and appealing to taste now, though should continue to develop with several more years of bottle aging.
Another winner from the '97 vintage, this is firm and tight, concentrated and compact, with detailed currant, black cherry, plum and spicy, toasty oak. Holds its focus, and picks up a pretty mocha on the aftertaste. Best from 2002 through 2012.
The wine is a nearly opaque inky ruby in color, with rich currant and briar fruit, pipe tobacco, cassis and allspice in the nose. The flavors are reminiscent of ripe berries, black cherry and dried fig, with notes of dusty cocoa, and a hint of anise.
