Can still stay in the cellar for a few mor years, but very drinkable now if you decant for a short time. On the nose some cassis and dark fruits. On the palate the tannins are gentle and allow some nice fruit to appear. Also picked up a slight hint of chocolate. The finish was somewhat short. A pretty good wine but not a special occassion wine
Sterling Cab is absolutely wonderfull wine. Ideal sweetness, balanced optimal tannins, full body, fruity and simply perfect red wine
This is an increbible purchase at around $12. Deep color a strong nose of dark fruit with tastes of blackberry, chocolate, vanilla, mint and a touch of berry flavored smoke. The acidity is bananced beautifully the Tartaric acid balance gives it a crisp taste which denotes graceful aging. The tannins are mellow but present. I've never given a wine a 5 rating only to leave some room for the epitomy of an aged world class Cabernet that I will hopefully review in the near future. but this one deserves a high rating from me. I have found a winner! God bless Sterling Vineyards and Sonoma California !!!
Here's a deep red, almost black Cab, with strong aroma of spice, and blackberry. This is an Oakey Cab with intense fruit flavor and tannins that tickle your gums. It has hints of chocolate and coffee with a definite smokey taste when you draw in air after the swallow. It's finish is one of deep fruit on mid and back palate with a lasting smokieness. This is one of my favorite Christmas presents from a family friend.

The Sterling Vintner's Collection Cabernet Sauvignon combines ripe, rich character with elegance and poise. Black berry fruit and ripe cherries leap from the glass, supported by toasty vanilla and cocoa. Full and fleshy across the midpalate, dark fruit reigns, balanced by good acidity and bright cherry notes. Smooth, fruit-driven tannins cradle the finish, integrating subtle elements of oak and spice.
An excellent value for under $20, this Cabernet expresses spicy black cherry, briary blackberry and mocha aromas. Hints of clove and anise persist over the lengthy finish and ripe tannins add structure and plush texture on the palate.

Our 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is distinguished by its dark profile and deep, decadent flavors, representative of the cool vintage. Aromas of black plums and cherry pie are elevated by layers of spice cake and caramelized vanilla. Boysenberry jam introduces the palate, supported by black fruit and swirls of rich cocoa. Barrel influence is evident in the complex structure and toasty spices that accompany the dark chocolaty tannins into a long, lively finish. This wine makes a fine accompaniment to braised short ribs or pasta carbonara. - WineryVarietal Composition:81% Cabernet Sauvignon5% Merlot5% Cabernet Franc3% Petite Verdot3% Petite Sirah2% Malbec1% SyrahBarrel Aging: 15 months45% American oak45% French oak10% European oakAppellation: Napa ValleyAlcohol: 14.6%Acidity: 5.8g/LpH: 3.78Ageability: 2012 to 2017
Our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon displays the rich, fruit-driven style of its California origins with the refined elegance typical of the varietal. The wine's dark profile shows blackberry, cassis and ripe cherry, accented by notes of vanilla and cocoa. The palate is full bodied, with inviting plumpness and smooth tannins that pick up bright cherry notes and a touch of spice on the finish. The Sterling Vintner's Collection Cabernet Sauvignon expresses the intense character of Monterey fruit in a full and balanced wine. Distinctive aromas of ripe blackberry, pepper, toast and hints of smoked meats are followed by subtle notes of light chocolate mint and vanilla. The palate offers concentrated black fruits, toffee and dark chocolate powder.
