Sterling Reserve Svr Napa Valley Red 2006

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Backordered. Due in April 23rd. Reserve Yours Today! A very special blend, Sterling's SVR Reserve Red is a lush Bordeaux blend sourced from their best vineyards. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot aged 18 months in oak. The Cab comes primarily from Napa with a small lot added from Knights Valley in Sonoma. The fermenting must undergoes a saigne in order to concentrate the flavors and increase the extraction. And clearly that's been achieved as this beauty shows a deep, dense core loaded with rich, ripe fruit. The Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 94 points and said "It's Beautiful now, with decanting, due to the generous fruit flavors and the way the oak shows them off. Dry and smooth, it brims with blackberry, cherry, red and black currant, blueberry, cocoa, anise and sandalwood and smoky flavors that go on and on. Should age, too. Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Petit Verdot. Now-2014"
