Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. Clean, slightly candied and hinting loosely at apples and pears, this uncomplicated wine runs to juicy simplicity, but it is nicely balanced and squeaky clean all the way through. Those traits alone place it near the head of ten-dollar-and-under pack, but the fact that this reasonably tasty Chardonnay invites a second glance earns its kudos for plentiful value at the price.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
Here's a proper wine that delivers plenty of varietal character. It has flavors of white peaches veering into tropical fruits, and is framed in plenty of toasty oak. The finish, with so much ripe fruit and caramel, is a little sweet.
Roasted pecans, vanilla and cornmeal flavors offer some depth to the modest pear and apple notes, finishing with a pasty note. Drink now through 2005.
A nice, round Chardonnay with loads of ripe, fruity flavors. White peach, pineapple, buttered toast and vanilla are just a few of the tastes that make this fun to drink. Has a good overlay of oak and a creamy, spicy texture that finishes sweet.
Forward in fruit and a little on the sweet side, this Chardonnay is simple and likeable for its wealth of peach and pineapple flavors. It has a creamy texture and enough acidity to balance.
Complex, if modestly so, with ripe apple, pear and melon-laced fruit, ending with a touch of citrus and cedar. Drink now.
