Reviews

Wow. . . . this is not a wine for beginners but if you are new to the game, I would still invite you try this out. The color is gorgeous - a brilliant plummy purple. The nose is classic and really pretty! Look for the hints of dried tobacco leaves, licorice and cedar box. On your palate, bright plums dance wildly with a dusty dry finish! It is a bit young, so if you can, buy three or four bottles!! You have to be able to try this now and see how it changes after a few years of cellaring. What a great value at $18/bottle!

The hot nose shows flavors of cigar tobacco and hints of blackberrys. The mouthfeel shows great potential. Like the nose, it is hot, and in addition is a bit too tight and tannic for me. So if heavy, bitter tannins are for you - this is a great wine. To be fair, I would like to try this wine with food, because it shows potential for some great pairings. Personally, for my pallet, if I am to drink this wine without food - I'll wait until 2010 when the wine matures a bit...

I want to WEAR the color of this wine - and after a few glasses I probably could be wearing it! The nose is cherry apple pie with hints of cardamom and cedar. There are flavors of bright fruit and cedar that lead into a chokecherry finish. At $18/bottle, you've got to taste this beauty for yourself.
