Got this at the local Italian deli. Good drinking wine on its own and pairs really well with pizza. Good fruity flavors from beginning to end.
Pale ruby color with moderate aromas of raspberry, cherry, damp earth and a slight barnyard component. This wine is dry, light bodied, with lively acidity, weak soft tannins, and a medium finish. The palate has moderate flavors of strawberry, dried cherry, and black pepper. A decent everyday table wine nothing to write home about. Works well with a little pizza pie. 2/5
It's just what Montepulciano should be all about: spicy, plummy and faintly raisiny with sweet tannins and masses of fruit flavour.
For $7, it is surprisingly good.
