I usually do not like ports at all, but perhaps it's the infusion of dark chocolate into this that makes it enjoyable. Rich, decadent and bittersweet in the best way. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 10/17/09 with Stanley Lambert owner Jim Lambert
5+ year tawny port infused with real dark chocolate. I think that's what makes it work for me. It balances it so it's not syrupy sweet and adds a really nice element. Dessert in a glass. Try it! With ice cream, I bet it's outstanding. - Tasted with Jim and Pam Lambert at Khoury's 5/5/10
Described by a non-wine drinker as the perfect wine for people who don't drink wine. This might be best incorporated into a dessert like ice cream or a cake based dessert of some type. People either loved its sweet, chocolate hint flavor or left it at the table. Definately unexpected and a conversation piece, but not sure I would serve it again. Did buy it after a tasting, though, so I would give it one more try.
I absolutely ADORE this port. It is both great to drink and to cook/bake with. Adds a great edge to cakes (Adults Only). It is a softer port, but it is hard to tell. Great when paired with desserts of any kind (especially peppermint, for the holidays). Love it, highly recommend it. If you like chocolate porter beers, but do not want the "belly bulge", then this is a divine substitute. Prefer cold, which enhances the chocolate, but while warm is not bad at all as it enhances the port characteristics.
A great desert port that is infused with chocolate and cherries, this one will make you skip any other dessert. The restaurant that I found it in sold a bottle to a friend for $65 and it's $10 per glass, but you can find it locally for $24. It's definitely worth it.
