Food Pairings for Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling Finger Lakes
This was our Thanksgiving wine and it was splendid. Great pairing for white meat turkey as well as cranberry sauce. Some great wet rock as well as papaya on the finish. I'm sure it would go great with sushi as well.
Underwhelming; bland. Too dry for my preference in a Riesling.
It has the initial sweetness and round mouthfeel you might expect from a reisling, but it quickly goes to a crisp finish. Very refreshing; good wine for summer.
took me a while to get over the region but once i opened the bottle and had my first sip i was pleasantly surprised. it was dry, crisp just right for a nice early spring evening. while not sweet, there is a bit of pineapple and green apple in there. overall a good buy, i will get a couple of more of this one.
dry, citrus, spicy
External Reviews for Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling Finger Lakes
Atypically ripe, weighty and intense for a Finger Lakes wine, with pear and peach notes buttressed by minerally dry extract. The mouthfeel is thick and viscous and the alcohol level a relatively high 13.1%, but it finishes long and elegantly, with tongue-tingling acids.
Good complexity here, with lime, peach and a hint of pine, all held together by crisp, balancing acidity. A touch of sulfur dioxide, but it should dissipate with a few months bottle age. Drink now through 2001.
Noticeably sweet yet balanced, with floral and apricot notes, a soft texture and a mouthwatering finish. Try as an aperitif. Drink now.
Ripe tropical flavors, delicate pear undertones and floral aromas. Perfect for sipping, with crisp acidity to balance the mid-range sweetness. Try with a baked ham, or various oriental dishes.
Jasmine aromatics prelude tropical fruit flavors of melon and mango that feel smooth and silky on the palate, with an off-dry personality that tapers off to a pleasing clean finish.
A lively wine with round, full notes of tangerine and other exotic fruits. A hint of acidity balances the wine perfectly. The finish has a pleasant, flinty lift. Great with hard cheeses or foie gras.
Ripe and juicy, with a solid core of anise, melon and fig flavors backed by a mouthwatering McIntosh note on the finish. Drink now through 2009.
