Food Pairings for Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling Finger Lakes
This was our Thanksgiving wine and it was splendid. Great pairing for white meat turkey as well as cranberry sauce. Some great wet rock as well as papaya on the finish. I'm sure it would go great with sushi as well.

The Finger Lakes region is recognized for world class Rieslings, and the Wine Spectator recognizes Standing Stone's Riesling as one of the best. Ripe apricot fruit, complemented by hints of pear and tropical flavors and floral aromas. With age in the bottle, this Riesling has developed great structure and balance that makes it the perfect accompaniment to a fine meal. Serve this wine with spicy Asian cuisine, or try it with baked ham.
While walking around either of the Premier Group stores is it is easy to be seduced by wine from exotic locales from around the world and to overlook the quality wines being produced nearby in Southern Ontario and the Finger Lakes. Standing Stone is one of the new, up-and-coming Finger Lakes wineries, and their 1997 Riesling shows off-dry apricot, peach, and honey flavors balanced by brisk acidity. Enjoy this wine on its own or with oriental or spicy foods.
Good complexity here, with lime, peach and a hint of pine, all held together by crisp, balancing acidity. A touch of sulfur dioxide, but it should dissipate with a few months bottle age. Drink now through 2001.
This Riesling from the Finger Lakes is perfect for drinking in the warm weather. Refreshing and light, it has delicate flavors of citrus and minerals. Pair this wine with a salad with baby greens, goat cheese, strawberries and balsamic vinaigrette.
Subtle at first, but the plump notes of anise, fig and pear develop nicely and extend through the ripe, juicy finish. Drink now.
A lively wine with round, full notes of tangerine and other exotic fruits. A hint of acidity balances the wine perfectly. The finish has a pleasant, flinty lift. Great with hard cheeses or foie gras.
Noticeably sweet yet balanced, with floral and apricot notes, a soft texture and a mouthwatering finish. Try as an aperitif. Drink now.
