Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling Finger Lakes 2007
Classic Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling. While the residual sugar says semi dry many are fooled into believing it is dry. This wine is lively, with round, full notes of tangerine and other exotic fruits. A hint of acidity balances the wine perfectly. The finish is a pleasant, flinty lift. This wine is great with hard cheeses or chicken dishes.
It has the initial sweetness and round mouthfeel you might expect from a reisling, but it quickly goes to a crisp finish. Very refreshing; good wine for summer.
took me a while to get over the region but once i opened the bottle and had my first sip i was pleasantly surprised. it was dry, crisp just right for a nice early spring evening. while not sweet, there is a bit of pineapple and green apple in there. overall a good buy, i will get a couple of more of this one.
