Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Estate Fay Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Usa 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Fay stands out for its delineation and nuance. Sweet floral notes meld into plums, menthol black cherries, violets and tar. With time in the glass, the wine fleshes out beautifully. Today the tannins are firm, but once they soften the fruit should begin to emerge more fully. There is plenty of vibrancy and energy in the 2010, although the wine does shut down quickly in the glass. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030. (Dec 2012)

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars:
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is considered one of Napa Valley's first-growths. We were founded by Warren Winiarski and his family in 1970 and are best known for our estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons — CASK 23, S.L.V., and FAY. Over the years, our wines have become some of the most highly regarded and collected wines worldwide. They are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure, and ageability, and to reflect the place in which they are grown.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

This 100% Cabernet is the winery's best amongst their new releases. It's rich and ripe with blackberries and cherries, along with lots of new French oak. It's also very tannic, but the wine isn't likely to improve in the long haul, so enjoy it now and over the next few years. - S.H. (14.5% alcohol): Bright ruby-red. Slightly medicinal but ripe nose offers bitter cherry, cassis, dark chocolate and licorice. Juicy and energetic but a bit youthfully clenched, with a medicinal quality to its black...

FAY vineyard remains one the great Napa Valley vineyards, producing fruit with an abundance of supple red and black berry character, voluptuous perfume and a luscious, fine-grained texture. A hallmark of our estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, an iron fist in a velvet glove.
