Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Chardonnay Karia United States California Napa County Napa Valley White 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

The allure of this wine begins with aromas of Bosc pear, lemon meringue, and a flinty note. The crisp apple, pear, and citrus flavors linger across the palate while hints of ginger and coconut unfold. A delicate richness best describes this KARIA Chardonnay, making it a versatile wine for the dinner table. Try it with sole in a simple lemon and butter sauce, or with seared Day Boat scallops marinated in lime juice, soy, and honey.

We were founded by Warren Winiarski and his family in 1970 and are best known for our estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons — CASK 23, S.L.V., and FAY. Over the years, our wines have become some of the most highly regarded and collected wines worldwide. They are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure, and ageability, and to reflect the place in which they are grown.

With just a hint of oak, this Chardonnay is all about fruit and acidity. Itrsquo;s dry and crisp, with a firm, clean mouthfeel, and pleasant citrus, apple, pear and mineral flavors.

Combines subtlety and finesse, with smooth ripe pear, melon, ginger, spice and hazelnut flavors that are rich and full-bodied without being heavy. Ends with a long, graceful finish. Drink now through 2017.
