a little overpriced and young...had a bottle recently @ capital grill in NYC and was disappointed...for $120 i felt it could have been more complex...our 2nd bottle was half the price and matched much better with our steaks (btw it was a pirramimma shiraz from australia...amazing) but i digress...stags leap overrated

Packs in lots of rich, intense, deep flavors of currant, anise, coffee, cedar, mineral, sage and black cherry. Tightly wound, with rich, firm, earthy, detailed tannins, it needs a sign: patience required. Best from 2005 through 2018. 3,688 cases made... Wine Spectator. ...dark ruby/purple color in addition to an attractive nose of minerals, Asian spices, black currants, and earth. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with good acidity, ripe tannin, and a slightly compressed finish... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Firm, rich and concentrated Cabernet, with elegant coffee, cedar, currant and leather flavors that are neat and trim. Finished withhints of mocha and cedar. Cellar. Best from 2002 through 2010. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 23,523 cases made. ... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 1997 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
